ConferZOOM - The New Improved CCCConfer

Many of the CLPCCD staff have been using the state provided CCCConfer conference system for several years for video and audio meetings or workshops. The newest video and audio system offering from the state is ConferZOOM. ZOOM is similar to CCCConfer, but has additional new features such as video camera capability to view the attendees if a camera is attached to their PC and smartphone access. Several CLPCCD staff have tried ZOOM and prefer it to the previous CCCConfer System. District ITS has setup all the CLPCCD employees to be able to utilize ZOOM. Information is provided below on what is needed to use the new ZOOM system.

ConferZoom is a videoconferencing tool that allows you to communicate and collaborate online in real-time using text, video, and audio. As a conference moderator or participant, you can speak, share webcam video, chat, screen-share, use white board tools, conduct meetings, record meetings, and deliver presentations. ConferZoom can operate on PCs, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.

ConferZoom is a service that is free to administrators, staff, and faculty of the California Community colleges system. It is funded by a grant from the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s office.

ConferZoom is now available for all CLPCCD employees. A valid CLPCCD email account is required to access ZOOM, either @clpccd.org for District, @laspositascollege.edu for LPC, or @chabotcollege.edu for Chabot.
